4 Staff Unions Locked Out VC Of Lagos State University From Entering The School Premises

The Lagos State University is witnessing chaos as four Staff Unions locked out the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Fagboun and Students from entering the school premises to curb the spread of Covid-19.

The Unions involved in this protest are Academic Staff Union of Universities, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Non-academic Staff Union, and the National Association of Academic Technologists.

At the early hours of 7:00 a.m this morning, some members of the Unions stood at the gate to prevent Staff of the University from gaining access into the campus.

What really agitated the Union was the non-payment of salary increment as promised by the Lagos State Government for over a year now, and they also claimed workers in the State have received their increment while tertiary institutions are yet to be paid.

The protest is holding across all Tertiary Institutions in Lagos State as final year Students resume today September 14, 2020.
